The Sea & Sea DX-GE5 / YS-02 Mariner Package is an underwater photography kit. It consists of the following items: A #SS-06633 DX-GE5 camera and housing set, which includes a G5WP-SS camera; an #SS-03113 YS-02 strobe head; an #SS-CDSET Aluminum base Tray & Flex Arm Set; an #SS-50107 Fiber Optic Cable L-Type; and a #SS-BAG Soft Camera Bag.

The #SS-06633 DX-GE5 camera and housing set is a small, full-featured, waterproof compact digital camera and underwater housing. The G5WP-SS camera features a high definition 1/2.3" primary color CCD with 12.2 effective megapixels, as well as a 4x optical zoom lens (38 to 152 mm). It has a depth rating of 16.4’ (5.0 m), so you need not worry if it gets wet even outside of its housing. It’s a great companion for any outdoor sports or activities in water or snow. When you want to dive, the durable housing permits full functionality of the camera’s controls to a depth of 180.4’ (55 m). Lightweight and compact, the camera / housing set is easily portable and ergonomic. The housing’s rear case back can be opened or closed while it is mounted on a camera tray. Luninour stickers help identify the buttons for the various camera controls.

Equipped with underwater photo and video modes, the camera works great for capturing terrific underwater images or video. The 2.7" LCD monitor has approximately 230,000 dots and features an automatic brightness adjustment function. The display makes it easy to view photos while shooting or during playback, and automatically adjusts the LCD screen’s brightness to match the amount of ambient light in the environment.

The camera has a high sensitivity of ISO1600, and is equipped with a recognition function for faces, smiles, and blinking, as well as a blur reduction function. An included removable macro diffuser adjusts light from the internal flash to make it uniform during macro (extreme close-up) shooting. There’s also a fiber-optic cable socket that slides, aligns with the position of the built-in flash, and fixes when you turn the retractable cable socket.

The camera and housing are compatible with the Wide-Angle Conversion Lens for DX-860G, which may be attached or removed underwater. Wide-angle lenses allow you to get even closer to your subject while still fitting everything in frame, thus cutting down on distortion to give you better, clearer image quality. Slight vignetting (dimming) may occur in the 4 corners of the image when using the wide-angle lens, an effect which is eliminated by zooming in slightly to telephoto.

The YS-02 strobe head is a compact manual slave strobe for both compact digital cameras and DSLRs. It features a circular beam angle of 100 × 100° and a guide number of up to 20. The YS-02 is usable for all applications from wide-angle to macro photography, as both a primary and secondary strobe. Use it as a manual slave strobe via the guide number control function, which is capable of setting the light level to your choice of ten levels. Take pictures that accurately reflect your intentions while the light level is adjusted via the guide number controller.

The YS-02 has a pre-flash cancel mode compatible with a wide variety of digital cameras with a pre-flash. Power is derived from 4x AA batteries, so you can keep taking pictures all day long without recharging! Recycle time is about 2 sec with NiMH batteries (2700 mAh). Included with the strobe head are the following items: A diffuser, a diffuser strap, silicon grease and a fixing bolt.

The #SS-CDSET Aluminum base Tray & Flex Arm Set contains a tray to hold your camera housing and a flex arm for the attachment and manipulation of your strobe.

The #SS-50107 Fiber Optic Cable L-Type is used to connect the built-in sensor on a Sea & Sea flash to a Sea & Sea housing with optical cable port. When the camera’s internal flash fires the cable will fire the external flash. The L shaped connectors resist bending and have improved light conducting efficiency. Apart from the DX-GE5, the cable is also compatible with the DX-2G/ DX-1200HD/ DX-1G, and RDX-series/ MDX-D7000/ MDX-7D/ MDX-D300s/ MDX-PRO D700.

The #SS-BAG Soft Camera Bag provides a convenient way for you to carry your underwater camera, housing, strobe, arm and accessories. The bag is made from nylon with polyethylene foam interior for shock absorption. There is a large front exterior pocket and an interior mesh pocket for accessories. The bag is carried by a handle or a removable, adjustable shoulder strap with pad.

Note! If camera has gotten wet, wipe off moisture with towel and allow to dry in cool place out of direct sunlight for at least 24 hr before use.
