This 31-megapixel digital medium format camera comes with the HVD90x viewfinder which tilts 90 degrees, allowing you to shoot at either eye or waist level.
The 80mm f/2.8 HC lens included with the kit is equivalent to a 63mm lens in 35mm format. The aperture stops down to f/32.
Battery life is approximately 200 shots per full power charge, less if using the onboard flash.
The H3DII-31 features the 6×4.5 format, sensor size of 33.1×44.2mm and pixel resolution of 4872×6496. ISO options include 100, 200, 400 and 800.
Hasselblad RAW file sizes average 40MB with 8 bit TIFF files sized around 95MB. Color definition is 16 bit. A note on software: Lightroom v2.4+ and Photoshop CS4+ can manage Hasselblad RAW “.3FR” through the software but will not correct lens distortion, moire, vignetting and APO correction as if using the Hasselblad Phocus software.
You can use high-speed UDMA CF cards, such as the 16GB and 32GB models we rent or shoot tethered directly to a Mac or PC using Firewire 800. Expect a 16GB card to hold around 400 images, double that for a 32GB card. The camera takes 1.2 seconds per capture with around 42 captures per minute.
Shutter speed range is from 32 seconds to 1/800 second. Flash can be used at all shutter speeds due to the leaf shutters present in the H-series lenses.
Rear screen size is 3" with 24 bit color and 230k pixels. No film back compatibility is supported with the H3DII.
